new section, to be numbered section 456l-a, which new section relates to the
construction of the word animal in the preceding eight sections. [H B 198]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
Code of Virginia of nineteen hundred and nineteen be amended by
adding thereto a new section, to be numbered section forty-five hun-
dred and sixty-one-a, which new section shall read as follows:
Section 456l-a. Word animal as used in preceding eight sec-
tions, construed.—The word “animal,” as used in the preceding
eight sections, shall be construed to include birds and fowls.
