Chap. 224.—An ACT Authorizing the Auditor of Public Accounts to Re-
fund to the Trustees of Randolph Macon College, Amount of Taxes Ille-
gally Assessed on the Property of said College.
Approved March 29, 1871.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to issue his warrant on the treasury of the state,
payable out of any money therein not otherwise appropriated
by law, in favor of the trustees of Randolph Macon college,
for the sum of one hundred and ten dollars and sixteen cents,
that being the amount paid by the said trustees or their agent
for state taxes for the years eighteen hundred and sixty-eight
and eighteen hundred and sixty-nine, on lots twenty-four and
twenty-three in the town of Ashland, standing in the name of
Thomas Branch, W. K. Watts, Asa Snyder, and Richard Irby,
but belonging to the said college, and as such, exempt from
taxation.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
