Chap. 197.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of the county of
Scott to levy, for local school purposes, a district tax, in addition to the
maximum, now authorized by general law, on all property in Floyd magis-
terial district, subject to district taxation, for school purposes. [H B 356]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of the county of Scott be, and it is hereby, author-
ized, on motion of the supervisor for Floyd magisterial district in the
said county, annually to levy in that district, in addition to the maxi-
mum levies for school purposes now authorized by general law, a tax
of not exceeding fifty cents on every one hundred dollars of the assessed
value of all property in that district subject to district taxation, for
school purposes. The revenue derived from any such additional levy
shall be expended for the benefht of the schools of that district.

2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its pas-
sage.
