Chap. 216.—An ACT for the Relief of the Sureties of Samuel Trenary,
Late Sheriff of Frederick County, Virginia.
Approved March 28, 1871.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the auditor
of public accounts be and is hereby authorized and directed,
in the settlement of the judgment in the name of the common-
wealth versus Samuel Trenary, late sheriff of Frederick county,
and his sureties, to receive from said sureties in discharge of
said judgment, except as to said Samuel Trenary, payment of
the principal, legal interest, costs, and expenses of collection.
abating the damages and interest, in excess of six per centum,
which have been awarded for said default.
2, This act shall be in force from its passage.
