Chap. 212.—An ACT for the Relief of the Sureties of 8. 8. Reeder, Late
Sheriff of Russeli County.

1, Be it enacted by the general assembly, That authority be
given to the auditor of public accounts, to suspend the collec-
tion of a judgment in the name of the commonwealth, against
S. 8. Reeder, late sheriff of Russell county, N. Ashbrook,
Whitly Thomas, G. H. Furgerson, and J. D. Kiser, his sureties,
for a period of twelve months: provided, he shall be satistied
that the same is sufficiently secured by the judgment lien; but
nothing herein contained shall be construed to prohibit the
auditor from collecting the debt whenever he may think proper
to do so.
2. The auditor of public accounts is authorized and hereby
required, upon a settlement of the aforesaid judgment, to re-
ceive from said sureties in discharge of said judgment against
said sureties, the payment of the principal, legal interest, costs
and expenses of collection, abating therefrom the damages and
excess of interest, which have been award for said default.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
