Chap. 179.—An ACT to Authorize the Collectors of Tax and Gas Bills in
the City of Alexandria, to Enforce the Payment of Delinquent Taxes and
Gas Bills.

Approved March 22, 1871.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the collec-
tors of tax and gas bills, under the present charter of the city
of Alexandria, shall have the same remedies by distress, sale,
or otherwise, to enforce the collection of such delinquent tax
and gas bills as have accrued within the past five years, as they
now have to collect the tax and gas bills of the current year.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage. _
