Chap. 156.—An ACT to Extend the Jurisdiction of the Corporate Authori-
ties of Towns Containing Less than Five Thousand Inhabitants.
Appreved March 21, 1871.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the jurisdic-
tion of the corporate authorities of each incorporated town of
this commonwealth, containing less than five thousand inhabi-
tants, shall extend one mile beyond and outside of the limits
thereof, for the better maintaining the police regulations of
any such town, and for imposing and collecting a license tax
on all shows, performances, and exhibitions which shall take
place anywhere within said extended boundary.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
