Chap. 78.—An ACT making it unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to
soak or swell scallops, or to sell or offer for sale, or have in possession any
soaked or swelled scallops. [H B 90]

I. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to soak or swell any
scallops or to sell or offer for sale or to have in his or their possession
any soaked or swelled scallops, either shucked or in shell.
2. <Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of this
section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not
less than twenty-five dollars or more than one hundred dollars for each
offense, and have his or their certificates of inspection from the State
health commissioner withdrawn at the discretion of the State health
commissioner or his authorized agents.
