Chap. 274.—An ACT to validate certain conveyances of school properties where
all legal requirements were not strictly complied with. [S B 240]
Approved March 24, 1930
Whereas, it appears that quite a number of conveyances of public
school properties have been made from time to time, in which either
all statutory requirements as to the method of disposing of school
property were not strictly complied with, or such deeds were not legally
executed by the school boards, by reason whereof, apparent clouds
rest upon the title to the properties so conveyed, to the prejudice of the
purchasers and their successors in title, which ought not to be so; and
in order that such clouds may be removed; now, therefore
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That all con-
veyances of public school properties in this State, made prior to the
eighteenth day of June, nineteen hundred and twenty-eight, by any
county, district or city school board, whether all statutory require-
ments as to the method of selling such property and/or the method of
executing such deeds, were strictly complied with or not, or whether
such deeds were made in the correct corporate names of such boards
or were made by the members of said boards as trustees thereof are
hereby declared to be as valid and binding as if all such requirements
had been strictly and technically complied with.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
