Chap. 122.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Bland county, in
their discretion, to erect, or contract for the erection of, a toll gate, or toll
gates in said county, on the public road leading from South Gap through the
wilderness and down Kimberling creek to near John Allen’s. [H B 213]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of Bland county be, and they are hereby, author-
ized and empowered to erect, maintain and operate, or contract for the
erection, maintenance and operation for such time and upon such
terms and conditions as they may deem expedient, a toll gate, or toll
gates, not exceeding two, on the public county road leading from a
point on State highway route number twenty-six, at South Gap,
through the wilderness, thence via Wasendonck’s Chapel, Hollybrook
and down Kimberling creek to the point of intersection with the public
road leading from White Gate to Bland Court House, at the brick
church near the house of John Allen, and to establish and fix the tolls
to be charged on the various kinds of live stock, teams, motor vehicle:
and other vehicles passing over said road and through said toll gate
or gates; and from the action of said board in establishing such tol
gate, or gates, and fixing such tolls, there shall be no appeal.
The net proceeds arising from such tolls shall be applied by sai
board towards the cost and expense of the construction, reconstruction
improvement and maintenance of said road in such manner as thet
may deem proper.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from it.
