Chap. 577.—An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new
section to be numbered section 2430-a, in relation to the compensation of
treasurers of cities who do not handle local revenues, for receiving and
paying over State revenues, such local revenues being handled in such
cities by city collectors in pursuance of the charters of such cities. [H B 436]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a new section to be
numbered section twenty-four hundred and thirty-a, which new sec-
tion shall read as follows:
Section 2430-a. Compensation of city treasurer who does not
handle local revenues, for receiving and paying over State revenues.—
Every city treasurer who does not handle local revenues, such local
revenues being handled in such city by a city collector in pursuance
of the charter of the city, shall be allowed for his services in receiving
and paying over the State revenues on amounts of fifty thousand
dollars and less, five per centum, and on amounts in excess of fifty
thousand dollars, three and one-half per centum. In computing com-
missions of the city treasurer for receiving and disbursing State reve-
nues under this section, such revenue shall be treated as a single fund.
This section shall apply to the collection of State revenue in such
cities for the year nineteen hundred and twenty-seven and for every
year thereafter, until otherwise provided by law.
