Chap. 5.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to allow mem-
bers of the United States military or naval reserve force to hold office under
the government of this Commonwealth or the political or administrative sub-
divisions thereof, approved March 10, 1920, so as to make the said act apply
also to retired United States army, navy and marine officers and tp eo

Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That an act
entitled an act to allow members of the United States military or
naval reserve force to hold office under the government of this Com-
monwealth or the political or administrative subdivisions thereof,
approved March tenth, nineteen hundred and twenty, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
1. No person shall, by reason of being a member of the United
States military or naval reserve force, or by reason of being a retired
officer of the United States army, navy or marine corps and receiving
pay therefor, be disqualified from holding any office under the govern-
ment of the Commonwealth, or under any county, city, town, magis-
terial district or school district thereof.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its pas-
sage. ,
