ginia, relating to the fees of clerks for issuing hunting and angling licenses.
[H B 99]
Approved March 24, 1926.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
thirty-three hundred and thirty-three of the Code of Virginia, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 3333. Clerk’s fees for issuing licenses, monthly reports,
et cetera.—From the money received for licenses issued by them, each
clerk in this State shall retain ten cents for a county license and twenty
cents for all other forms of hunting and angling licenses. Each of
said clerks shall report to the department of game and inland fisheries
on or before the fifth day of each month following whether there have
been any sales or not for the previous month, and if so, such report
shall consist of a classified list, on forms to be provided by the depart-
ment, showing the number and value of licenses issued, the amount
of gross collections and fees and the number of licenses of each kind in
hand and unsold at the end of the month, accompanied by certified
check, payable to the treasurer of Virginia for the net amount after
deducting fees herein provided, which shall be covered into the game
protection fund. Clerks are authorized to redeem county licenses
at a value of ninety cents and issue in lieu thereof a State resident
license, charging the difference to the purchaser; provided, the ex-
change is made in the same calendar month that the original county
license was issued. If a license becomes lost or destroyed the clerk is
authorized to issue in place thereof, upon affidavit of the holder, a
certificate on forms furnished by the department, which shall entitle
the owner to exercise the privileges of the original license. The
clerks’ fees for such transactions shall be the same as prescribed by
law for original licenses, and paid by the applicants. Spoiled licenses,
licenses redeemed in exchange and affidavits ‘covering certificates
issued in the place of lost or destroyed licenses shall be attached to the
report of the clerk and sent to the department. Clerks shall return
to the department unused licenses and stubs on May first of each
year. All other laws or parts of laws in conflict herewith are to such
extent repealed.
