Chap. 379.—An ACT to make it unlawful for any person falsely to personate a
sheriff, constable, police officer, marshal or other peace officer. (H B 138]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That any
person who shall falsely assume or exercise the functions, powers,
duties and privileges incident to the office of sheriff, constable, police
officer, marshal, or other peace officer, or who shall falsely assume or
pretend to be any such officer, shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished as such.
