Chap. 222.—An ACT for the relief of George P. Hening. «TS B 98]

Whereas, George P. Hening has been for thirty-five years employed
as a guard at the State penitentiary, and has rendered efficient and
faithful service, never having been late for duty during the term of his
employment, and
Whereas, on the fourth day of July, nineteen hundred and twenty-
four, he suffered the loss of one of his eyes as a result of an accident
occuring in the course of his employment; and
Whereas, under the provisions of the workmen’s compensation
act, he is entitled to receive approximately twelve hundred dollars
only, a sum insufficient to compensate him for the loss he has suffered ;
now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed
to draw his warrant in favor of George P. Hening, for the sum of
twelve hundred dollars on the treasurer of Virginia, payable out of
any funds in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, as additional
compensation for his loss.
