Chap. 190.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 6562 of the Code of Vir-
ginia, which said section is in chapter 274 of the said Code, on the subject of
exemption of property of householder. {[S B 139]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec-
tion sixty-five hundred and sixty-two, of the Code of Virginia, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 6562. What articles, on death of householder, vest ab.
lutely in his widow, minor children, and unmarried daughters.—Upor
the death of a householder, leaving a widow, minor children, o1
daughters who have never married, there shall be vested in them, o1
such of them as shall then constitute members of the household
absolutely and exempt from sale for funeral expenses, or debts of the
decedent, or charges of administration on his estate, such of his
property as would, if he were alive and a householder, be exempt under
section sixty-five hundred and fifty-two from levy or distress for
his debts, and.also, if he be at the time of his death actually engaged
in the business of agriculture, such of his property as would, were he
alive and a householder, be exempt under section sixty-five hundred
and fifty-three from levy or distress for his debts.
