Chap. 112.—An ACT to protect fish in the Tye river and its tributaries and
in the Rockfish river and its tributaries in the county of Nelson, and in
Piney river and its tributaries in the counties of Nelson and Amherst, and
to repeal an act entitled an act to protect fish in the Tye river and its
tributaries and in the Rockfish river and its tributaries in the county of
Nelson, approved March 4, 1924. [H B 108]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That here-
after it shall be unlawful for any person to take or catch fish in the
waters of the Tye river and its tributaries and in the waters of the
Rockfish river and its tributaries in the county of Nelson, and in the
waters of Piney river and its tributaries in the counties of Nelson and
Amherst in any manner other than by angling with hook and line,
except from the twentieth day of June to the first day of August of
each year, during which period fish may be taken from any of such
waters except that part of Piney river, Tye river and Rockfish river
lying west of route number eighteen of the State highway system,
by the use of seines. Nothing herein shall be construed to prevent
any person from using a net commonly known as a “landing net’’ to
land any fish hooked by lawful angling with hook and line.
2. Any violation of this act shall be a misdemeanor and shall be
punished by a fine of not less than ten nor more than fifty dollars.
3. An act entitled an act to protect fish in the Tye river and its
tributaries and in the Rockfish river and its tributaries in the county
of Nelson, approved March fourth, nineteen hundred and twenty-
four, is hereby repealed.
