Chap. 86.—An ACT to authorize the town of Norton to exchange a part of the
land covered by Seventh street in said town, with Greever Motor Sales, In-
corporated, for apart of its land that is now being occupied by the street and
sidewalk on said Seventh street. [H B 57}

Whereas, the town of Norton, in building its street and sidewalk on
Seventh street, in said town, has encroached on the property of Greever
Motor Sales, Incorporated, and has taken a part of the property of the
said Greever Motor Sales, Incorporated, for the use of said street and
sidewalk; and,
Whereas, a part of Seventh street, in said town, adjacent to the pro-
perty of the said Greever Motor Sales, Incorporated, is not now being
used for street purposes, and as the concrete streets and sidewalks have
been built contiguous to said property the town will never need said
part of said street for street or sidewalk purposes; and,
Whereas, the town council of the town of Norton, and the Greever
Motor Sales, Incorporated, have agreed upon a settlement for the taking
of said land aforesaid by the exchange of property as set forth in an
ordinance of the said town council passed at its regular meeting on the
sixth day of December, nineteen hundred and twenty-three;
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the town
council of the said town of Norton is hereby authorized and empowered
to make the exchange of property set forth in said ordinance of De-
cember sixth, nineteen hundred and twenty-three, and the mayor and
recorder of the said town are hereby authorized to execute and deliver
a good and sufficient deed with special warranty of title conveying that
part of Seventh street in said town to Greever Motor Sales, Incorpor-
ated, as set forth in said ordinance aforesaid.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
