Chap. 384.—An ACT to authorize and direct the Peasley school board, in the
county of Gloucester. to turn over to the treasurer of the said county all
funds in its hands, to be placed to the credit of the county school fund and used
for school purposes; and to provide for the dissolution of the said Peasley
school board. [S B 326]

Whereas, by an act of March twenty-fourth, nineteen hundred and
;wenty-two, a corporation known as the Peasley school board was
created to take over and manage the assets of the Gloucester charity
school, in the county of Gloucester, Virginia, and to expend the annual
income from the said assets, as provided in said act; and
Whereas, it is now desired that all funds in the hands of the said
Peasley school board be turned over to the Gloucester county school
board to be used for county school purposes, and that the said corpora-
tion be dissolved; now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
Peasley school board, a corporation created under the said act of March
twenty-fourth, nineteen hundred and twenty-two, be, and it is hereby
authorized, empowered and directed to transfer and turn over all its
property and assets to the treasurer of Gloucester county, to be placed
to the credit of the county school fund, to be expended by the county
school board of the county of Gloucester for school purposes in equal
proportions in the magisterial districts of Ware, Abingdon and Pets-
worth in the said county.
2. Upon so turning over to the treasurer of the county of Gloucester
of all its said assets, the corporation known as the Peasley school board
shall stand dissolved.
3. The treasurer of the county of Gloucester, for receiving and dis-
bursing all funds coming into his hands under the provisions of this act,
shall receive as compensation for his services one per centum of the
amount of such funds.
4. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
