Chap. 317.—An ACT for the protection of foxes in the counties of Albemarle and
Spotsylvania. [H B 420)
Approved March 20, 1924.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful for any person to trap foxes in the counties of Nelson,
Albemarle and Spotsylvania, except during the month of November in
each year, and it shall be unlawful to shoot foxes in said counties at
any time, except in the protection of property.
2. Those who trap foxes shall visit their traps once every day and
release any dog or dogs or other domestic animal or fowl that may have
been caught in said traps, and be liable for all damage done by trap
to dogs, domestic animals and fowl.
3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this act shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction fined not less
than ten nor more than fifty dollars for each offense.
4. Anemergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
