Chap. 221.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3337 of the Code of Virginia
in relation to hunting and trapping without license. [S B 183

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
thirty-three hundred and thirty-seven of the Code of Virginia be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
~ Section 3337. Hunting or trapping without license prohibited.—
First. It shall be unlawful for any person to hunt or trap outside of the
limits of his own property (except as provided in section thirty-three
hundred and thirty-four), without first obtaining a license permitting
him to do so, or for any person to lend or transfer his hunting license to
another. Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, be punished by
a fine of not lesss than five dollars nor more than twenty-five dollars.
Second. It shall be unlawful for any person to use or attempt to
use the license of another for hunting, trapping or fishing in this State,
or for any person to hunt, trap or fish upon the lands of any gun club,
association or preserve, of whatever description, public or private, as a
member thereof or land owner, without having procured in the proper
manner 2 license, nor shall their memberships therein be construed to
entitle them to hunting, trapping or fishing privileges as a land owner
or bona fide tenant or lessee. Provided further, that if any person be
found guilty of knowingly and wilfully violating any of the provisions
of the hunting, trapping or fishing laws the license issued to said person
shall be revoked by the court trying the case and he shall not apply for
a new license until twelve months succeeding date of conviction and if
such person be found hunting, trapping or fishing during said prohibited
period, or otherwise violating the provisions of this section, such person
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine of not
less than fifty dollars or more than one hundred dollars. All licenses
revoked under the provisions of this section shall be sent to the depart-
ment of game and inland fisheries, Richmond, Virginia.
