CHAP. 89.—An ACT to give the consent of the Commonwealth of Virginia
to the city of Richmond to widen Twelfth street between Bank and
Franklin streets. [H B 95]
Approved March 24, 1923.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the consent of the Commonwealth of Virginia is hereby given
to the council of the city of Richmond to widen Twelfth street
in the said city between Bank and Franklin streets by utilizing
so much of a strip of land, now a part of the Capitol Square, as
will lie more than seven feet east of the eastern wall of the State
office building, when completed.
2. The consent hereby given is given upon the condition that
the council of the said city will construct and maintain the side-
walk and pave and maintain the street at its expense: and the
Commonwealth reserves, and the city of Richmond gives, the
right to lay across Twelfth street and Franklin street at or near
the State library and office buildings all necessary pipes for the
operation of any and all State buildings now located, or which
may hereafter be located, in the Capitol Square.
