Chap. 6.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Henry county
to borrow $€0,000 to be used for the purpose of retiring $60,000 of
Roanoke and Southern Railroad subscription bonds, and to issue new
bonds fur the payment thereof at a rate of interest not exceeding 6
per cent. per annum, and to provide for the payment of principal and
interest of said new bonds out of money derived from the general
county levy, and to repeal all acts and parts of acts inconsistent with
this act. [S B 13]
Approved March 15, 1923.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of Henry county be, and is hereby, au-
thorized and empowered to borrow sixty thousand dollars for
the purpose of retiring sixty thousand dollars of Roanoke and
Southern Railroad subscription bonds, and to issue new bonds
for the payment thereof at any rate of interest not exceeding six
per cent. per annum. Said new bonds to be in a series and to
become due and payable from one to ten years from their date,
and to be executed by the chairman of said board and attested
by the clerk thereof, both principal and interest of said new
bonds to be paid at maturity out of money derived from the
general county levy.
29. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act are
hereby repealed.
3. An emergency existing because of the early maturity of
said railroad bonds, this act shall be in force from its passage.
