Chap. 52.—An act to amend and re-enact an act approved February 17,
1922, entitled ‘““An act to amend and re-enact section one of chapter
seven of an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact all acts creating
and «ernending the charter of the city of Lynchburg,” approved March
13, 1918. [H B 37]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the act approved February seventeenth, nineteen hundred and
twenty-two, entitled “An act to amend and re-enact section one
of chapter seven of an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact
all acts creating and amending the charter of the city Lynch-
burg,” approved March thirteenth, nineteen hundred and
eighteen, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 1. There shall be for said city a judge of the
corporation court, a Commonwealth’s attorney, a clerk of the
corporation court, a treasurer, a sergeant, and a commission of
the revenue, each of which shall be elected in the manner and
at the time, and to hold office for the term prescribed by law;
they shall respectively perform such duties, have such powers,
and be liable to such penalties as may be prescribed by the laws
of the State or the ordinances of the city, made in pursuance
thereof; and for all services performed for said city by. the
treasurer or by the commission of the revenue, or performed
under any ordinance or resolution of the council, such officers.
shall receive such compensation as may from time to time be
fixed by the council, which compensation may be either in the
shape of salary or commissions as the council may determine.
