Chap. 133.—An ACT authorizing the county school board of Clarke county
to borrow money, not in excess of $25,000, and to issue its notes there-
for, for the purpose of acquiring land, erecting and equipping an ad-
dition to the public school building at Berryville, and authorizing the
board of supervisors of the said county to provide for the payment of
the interest thereon, and to create a sinking fund for the payment of
the principal thereof at maturity. [S B 49]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the county school board of Clarke county is hereby authorized
to borrow a sum of money not exceeding twenty-five thousand
dollars and to issue its notes therefor, the said notes to be issued
in such denominations and to be payable at such time or times,
not exceeding ten years from the date thereof, as the said board
may prescribe, and shall bear interest at not exceeding six per
centum per annum.
The notes issued by the said school board in pursuance of
this act shall be signed by the chairman and countersigned by
the clerk thereof, and the proceeds shall be used to acquire land,
erect and equip an addition to the public school building at
Berryville. |
After the issuance of the notes provided for in this act, the
board of supervisors of Clarke county is authorized to provide
for the payment of the interest on the said notes and to create
a sinking fund for the payment of the principal thereof at
maturity.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
