Chap. 79.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Henry county to
appropriate annually from the general county levy fund a sufficient amount
of money for the construction and maintenance of public roads, in any and
all the districts of said county, and to borrow money at any time not to
exceed $25,000.00 annually, tor the construction and maintenance of said
roads. S B 246]

Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the board
of supervisors of Henry county, be and it is hereby authorized to
appropriate and use annually such amounts of the general funds
raised by the general county levy, as may be necessary for the con-
struction and maintenance of the public roads in any and all the dis-
tricts of said county, as a supplement to said county and district road
fund. And the said board of supervisors is hereby authorized and
empowered to borrow money and to execute bonds or notes therefor,
to an amount not to exceed in any one year twenty-five thousand dol-
. te
lars, said notes or bonds not to run for a period of more than one
year, and the same to be executed by the chairman of said board of
supervisors and attested by the clerk thereof, and at maturity to be
paid out of the general county levy.
Said money to be used only for and not otherwise than for road
purposes as aforesaid.
An emergency existing on account of the present need of funds
in said county to properly finance road work, this act shall be in force
from its passage.
