Chap. 53.—An ACT to authorize the State highway commissioner to sell the
houses and lands appurtenant thereto on the Valley turnpike conveyed to
the Commonwealth of Virginia under the act approved March 20, ae .

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
State highway commissioner be and is authorized to sell in his dis-
cretion and convey by deed to the purchaser, any or all of the houses
formerly used as toll houses on the Valley Turnpike, together with
the lands appurtenant thereto, which said lands and toll houses were
conveyed to the Commonwealth of Virginia under an act approved
March twentieth, nineteen hundred and eighteen. |
2. The funds received from such sales shall be paid into the
‘reasury of Virginia and expended by the State highway commis-
sioner for the benefit of the Valley Turnpike.
3. The act approved September fifth, nineteen hundred and nine-
teen, entitled an act to authorize the State highway commissioner to
sell in his discretion houses formerly used as toll houses on the
Valley Turnpike conveyed to the Commonwealth of Virginia, under
an act approved March twenty, nineteen hundred and eighteen, is
hereby repealed. :
4. An emergency existing because of the necessity of disposing
of such houses and lands, this act shall be in force from its passage.
