Chap. 52.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2 of an act entitled an act
to amend and re-enact an act approved February 20, 1896, entitled an act
to provide for working and keeping in repair the public roads of Buchanan
and Dickenson counties, as amended by act approved February 9, 1916, so
as to provide how the board of supervisors of Buchanan county may
establish, change and relocate roads in that county and contract for the
construction of same, on terms and conditions, approved March 16, 1918.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
two of an act approved March the sixteenth, one thousand nine
hundred and eighteen, entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act
approved February twentieth, one thousand eight hundred ninety-
six entitled an act to provide for working and keeping in repair the
public roads of Buchanan and Dickenson counties, as amended by
act approved February ninth, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen,
so as to provide how the board of supervisors of Buchanan county
may establish, change and re-locate roads in that county and con-
tract for the construction of same, on terms and conditions, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Sec. 2. The said board is empowered and authorized in the counties
of Dickenson and Buchanan to levy a county road tax, not exceeding
fifty cents on each one hundred dollars’ worth of property for each
year; and the said board is empowered and authorized in said
counties of Dickenson and Buchanan to lay another levy for any or
all of the magisterial districts in the counties of Dickenson and
Buchanan if said board so desires, so the same does not exceed in
any district fifty cents on each one hundred dollars’ worth of property
for each year. For each year said levy shall be made at the time
when the annual county levies are made, said road levies are to be
collected and accounted for by the county treasurer.
2. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act are hereby
repealed.
