Chap. 397.—An ACT to provide for the enumeration of the veterans of the

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be the duty of the commissioner (or commissioners) of the revenue
of each county and city, annually at the time of taking the lists of
property for taxation, to enumerate the living veterans of the Confed-
erate army and navy in his county or city (or in those counties having
more than one commissioner of the revenue, of their respective dis-
tricts) obtaining their names, ages, post office addresses, and the value
of their real and personal property and annual income.
