Chap. 286.—An ACT authorizing the boards of supervisors of Carroll and Gray-
son counties to enter into a contract in relation to the erection and main-
tenance of a certain bridge in Grayson county, 2nd authorizing the board
of supervisors of Carroll county to appropriate money for the erection and
maintenance of such bridge. [H B 480]
Approved March 19, 1920.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
boards of supervisors of the counties of Carroll and Grayson be, and
they are hereby, authorized and empowered to enter into a contract,
the terms of which to be agreed on by the said boards, for the erection
and maintenance of a bridge across Chestnut creek in the county of
Grayson, at or near the ford crossing of the Pipers Gap road, about
one-quarter of a mile south of the corporate limits of the town of
Galax. The said boards are hereby authorized and empowered to do
all things necessary for the carrying out of the terms of the said
contract.
2. The board of supervisors of the county of Carroll is hereby
authorized and empowered to appropriate, out of the county road
funds, a sum not exceeding three thousand dollars, for the erection
and maintenance of said bridge.
3. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
