Chap. 17.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3897 of the Code of Ms
Approved February 10, 1920.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
thirty-eight hundred and ninety-seven of the Code of Virginia be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Sec. 3897. Debts and claims against corporation so sold.—The
debts due to and by, and claims against, the corporation whose works
and property are so sold, shall be subject to the provisions contained
in section thirty-eight hundred and ninety-nine, and the said company,
notwithstanding its dissolution, shall, as to said debts and claims,
havé the power and perform the duties prescribed by that section and
be served with process as therein provided. . .
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
