Chap. 97.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act approved March 15, 1904, and
further amended and approved by an act of February 17, 1920, authorizing
the board of supervisors of Patrick and Grayson counties to levy a capita-
tiom tax for schools or other county purposes. [S B 125

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
an act authorizing the board of supervisors of Patrick and Grayson
counties, respectively, to levy a capitation tax for school or other
county purposes, approved March fifteenth, nineteen hundred and
four, and further amended and approved by an act of February
seventeenth, nineteen hundred and twenty, be amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows: )
2. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
respective board of supervisors of Patrick and Grayson counties be,
the same are hereby, authorized to levy an additional capitation tax,
not exceeding one dollar per annum, on every resident of said coun-
ties not less than twenty-one years of age, except those pensioned by
this State for military services, which shall be applied one-half to
the public free schools and the other one-half for building and repair-
ing the roads and bridges of said respective counties.
3. An emergency is declared to exist and this act shall be in force
from its passage.
