1. Be it enatced by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec-
tion fory-seven hundred and nineteen of the Code of Virginia be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 4719. Prohibiting unlawful use or wearing of any 1n-
signia or button of any association or society or trades union, or any
southern cross of honor or emblem of the American Legion.—Any
person who shall willfully wear any insignia or button of any asso-
ciation, society or trades union, or who shall use the same to obtain
aid or assistance within this State, unless he shall be entitled to use
or wear the same under the constitution, bylaws, rules and regulations
of such association, society or trades union, or any person who shall
willfully wear or use, to obtain assistance, the emblem of the Amer-
ican Legion, unless he be entitled to use or wear the same, or any
southern cross of honor, not being entitled to do so under the regu-
lations under which such crosses of honor are given, shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor.
