Chap. 157.—An ACT to authorize the town of Altavista, in the county of
Campbell, to sell the McMinnis farm of about 207 acres in eT eel
county.
Approved March 10, 1922.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
town of Altavista, in the county of Campbell, acting by and through
the council of the said town, is hereby authorized to sell and convey,
in whole or in part and subject to such reservations as the said council
may deem proper for such consideration and upon such terms as the
said council may by ordinance or resolution prescribe, that certain
tract of land containing two hundred and seven acres, more or less,
situated and being on the Pocket Ford road in Pittsylvania county,
Virginia, adjoining the lands of Hundley, Weeks and others and
known as the “Old McMinnis Place,” which was conveyed to the said
town by two deeds, one from John L. Hurt dated May tenth, nineteen
hundred and eighteen, of record in the clerk’s office of Pittsylvania
county in deed book one hundred and fifty-seven, page one hundred
and twenty-five, and the other dated May seventeenth, nineteen hun-
dred and eighteen, from Lucy F. Owen and others, of'record in the
same said clerk’s office in deed book one hundred and fifty-seven,
page twenty-four.
