CHAP. 9.—An ACT to permit the county of Fauquier to issue bonds for
Cedar Run magisterial district, of Fauquier county, for the purpose
of permanent improvement of roads and bridges in said district, not
exceeding twenty per cent of assessed value of taxable property in
said district and to levy a tax not exceeding $1.80 on the $100.00 as-
sessed valuation of the taxable property in said district subject to
county and district taxation, to provide for payment of interest on
said bonds and a sinking fund for the payment of the principal of
said bonds, and for the upkeep of said roads so constructed, and the
other roads in said district. . [H B 9]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
he county of Fauquier is hereby authorized and empowered to
ssue bonds not exceeding twenty per centum of the assessed
axable value of property in Cedar Run magisterial district of
he county of Fauquier, liable to district and county levy, the
roceeds of said bonds to be used in the permanent improvement
f roads and bridges in said district, and to levy on the property
n said district subject to district and county levy, a tax not ex-
eeding one dollar and eighty cents on the one hundred dollars
aluation of assessed taxable property in said district, which
ax shall be used to pay the interest on said bonds, to provide
sinking fund for the payment of the principal under the law
ow existing, and further to provide a fund for the upkeep of
aid roads constructed under said bond issue and the other roads
f said district. Provided, that no bonds shall be issued under
his act, until an election is held under the existing law, and a
najority of voters of said district shall have voted in favor of
aid bond issue. Said election shall be held and all other pro-
eedings had under the law as now existing or as the same may
e amended, in relation to issuance of bonds for permanent im-
rovement of roads and bridges in magisterial districts of the
ounties of this State. The purpose of this act is to authorize
he issuance of bonds to the extent of twenty per centum of the
ssessed value of the taxable property in said Cedar Run magis-
erial district instead of ten per centum of same as now pro-
ided, and to authorize an increase of tax rate from ninety cents
s now provided to one dollar and eighty cents on the one hun-
red dollars of assessed taxable values in said district, in all
ther respects the law with reference to issuing bonds by coun-
ties for the permanent improvement of roads and bridges in
magisterial districts shall be in force and effect in said Fauquier
county and Cedar Run magisterial district.

2. All acts and parts of acts in conflict with this act are
hereby repealed.

38. An emergency existing because of the urgent need of
road improvement in said Cedar Run magisterial district, this
act shall be in force from its passage. :
