CHAP. 82.—An ACT to authorize the boards of supervisors of the counties,
and councils of cities and towns, to apprpriate money, in their dis-
cretion, to defray the necessary expenses of Confederate veterans of
said counties, cities and towns, in‘attending any annual re-union of
the United Confederate veterans. . [S B 93]

1. Be if enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the boards of supervisors of the several counties of this Com-
monwealth, and the councils of the several cities and towns, are
hereby authorized, in their discretion, to appropriate money out
of the county, city or town funds, as the case may be, te dcfrav
lhe necessary expenses of the Confederate veterans of said coun-
ties, cities, and towns respectively desiring to attend any annual
re-union of the United Confederate veterans. The number of
veterans to have their expenses paid shall be left to the discre-
tion of the boards of supervisors of the counties and the councils
of the cities and towns.
2, Owing to the nearness of the date of an annual re-union
of the United Confederate veterans, an emergency is declared
to exist and this act shall be in force from its passage.
