Chap. 78.—An ACT to authorize the city of Bristol to lease or sell the
Gauthier property in said city. [H. B. 69]

Whereas, the question has arisen as to the authority of the
city council of Bristol, Virginia, to sell the property known as
the Gauthier property, situated on Lee street, in said city:
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the city council of said city of Bristol is hereby authorized and
empowered, in its discretion, to lease or sell so much of said
Gauthier property as is not occupied with courthouse, jail, clerk’s
office, etc., or has not heretofore been set apart by the council
for street or other public purposes.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from
and after September fifteenth, nineteen hundred and nineteen.
