CHAP. 51.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Henry county
to borrow the sum of $50,000.00 to be used for the construction and
permanent improvement of roads and bridges in said county under
the supervision of the State highway commissioner or the board of
supervisors of said county and to provide for the payment of same
and to provide for the retirement of any notes or bonds which may
- have been issued by said board pursuant to acts of the general as-
sembly, approved March 9, 1918, and March 14, 1918, and to repeal
all acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act. [S B 66]
Approved September 5, 1919.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of Henry county be, and it is hereby,
authorized and empowered to borrow fifty thousand dollars and
to execute bonds or notes for same. Said bonds or notes to be
executed by the chairman of said board and attested by the clerk
thereof, and run from one to five years, in amounts to be desig-
nated by said board, and to bear interest at the rate not exceed-
ing six per cent per annum, and at maturity to be paid out of the
general county levy. Said money is to be used for the construc-
tion and permanent improvement of roads and bridges in Henry
county constructed under the supervision of the State highway
commissioner or the said board of supervisors, and for the re-
tirement of any notes or bonds which may have been issued by
said board pursuant to acts of the general assembly approved
March ninth, nineteen hundred and eighteen, and March four-
teen, nineteen hundred and eighteen.
2. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act are
hereby repealed.
3. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
