CHAP. 4.—An ACT to empower the board of supervisors of Rockingham
county to purchase and provide for the payment therefor of the Rawley
springs and Harrisonburg turnpike, and the Harrisonburg and Frank-
lin turnpike, or either of them. [fH B 7]
Approved September 4, 1919.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of Rockingham county be, and they are
hereby, authorized and empowered to purchase the Harrison-
burg and Rawley Springs turnpike, and the Harrisonburg and
Franklin turnpike, or either of said turnpikes at such time and
on such terms as to time of payments as said board shall de-
termine; that said board of supervisors is also authorized and
empowered to include in the amount to be raised annually by
county road tax such sum or sums as may be necessary to pay
the purchase price for said turnpikes, or either of them. When
said turnpike, or either of them, shall have been purchased, a

conveyance thereof shall be made by deed to the said board of
supervisors, and the turnpike or turnpikes so conveyed shall
thereupon become and thereafter remain a part of the public
road system of said county, and be controlled and maintained as
other public or county roads may be controlled or maintained
in said county. ,
2. All acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this act are
hereby repealed as to Rockingham county.
