Chap. 18.—An ACT to make it unlawful to hunt, kill or chase deer in
the county of Lunenburg from the first day of January to the first
day of October, in each year. [H B 22]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be unlawful for any person to hunt, kill or chase deer in
the county of Lunenburg from the first day of January to the
first day of October, in each year.

2. <Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine of not
less than ten nor more than five hundred dollars, or by confine-
ment in jail not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and
imprisonment, in the discretion of the tribunal trying the case.

3. All acts and parts of acts, inconsistent with this act are
hereby repealed. |

4. By reason of the scarcity of deer in Lunenburg county,
an emergency is declared to exist, and this act shall be in force
from its passage.
