Chap. 95.—An ACT authorizing the councils of the citles of this Common-
wealth having, by the last United Stutes census, a population in excess
of 65,000 inhabitants and less than 100,000 inhabitants, to establish, erect,
construct, and maintain armory buildings and stables and other buildings
necessary and convenient therefor, and to ratify and confirm the establish-
ment, erection and construction of armory buildings, and other structures
necessary thereto, heretofore made by the council of any said city; and
authorizing the issuance of bonds for the said sites and buildings hereto-
fore acquired and erected. {H B 131]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
council of any city of this Commonwealth having, by the last United
States census, 2 population in excess of sixty-five thousand inhabi-
tants, and less than one hundred thousand, may establish, erect, con-
struct, and maintain armory buildings and stables and other build-
ings necessary and convenient therefor; that where the council of
any said city has heretofore, by resolution or ordinance, purchased
any site for said armory buildings and stables, or other buildings
necessary and convenient therefor, and erected or caused to be
erected armory buildings and stables, or other buildings necessary
and convenient therefor, the said action is hereby ratified and con-
firmed, to have the same effect as if the said council of said city had,
prior to the said purchase of said site and the erection of said arm-
orv buildings and stables, or other buildings necessary and con-
venient therefor, been thereunto specially authorized; and the coun-
cils of any said city are hereby authorized to issue bonds of the
city in the manner provided for in the charter of the said city on
account of the acquisition of said sites, and the erection of said
armory buildings and stables, and other buildings necessary and
convenient therefor, heretofore acquired and erected.
