Chap. 380.—An ACT to submit to the qualified voters of the town of Dillwyn,
in the county of Buckingham, the question of repealing the charter of
said town. [S B 386]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
charter of the town of Dillwyn, in the county of Buckingham, be.
and the same is hereby, repealed; provided, however, that on peti-
tion of a majority of the qualified voters of said town there shall
be held an election within the said town within two years after
the approval of this act, and upon such day as shall be designated
by the mayor of said town, for the purpose of ascertaining whether
or not this act shall become effective. .
Thirty days’ notice of said election shall be posted at the vot-
place in said town. At such election the tickets used shall
have printed thereon the words “for repeal of town charter” and
“against repeal of town charter,” and each qualified voter who
desires this act to become effective shall draw a line through the
words “against repeal of town charter,” and each voter who shall
not desire this act to become effective shall draw a line through
the words “for repeal of town charter.”
The manner of printing of, receiving and canvassing the bal-
lots and of making and canvassing returns and abstracts thereof
shall conform in all respects to the requirements of the general
election law.
2. If a majority of the qualified votes cast at said election shall
be against the repeal, then the charter of the said town of Dill-
wyn shall not be repealed, but shall continue in force and effect;
but if a majority of the votes cast at said election shall be for
repeal, then on r ebruary fourteen, nineteen hundred and twenty,
the acts designated, incorporating the said town of Dillwyn, shall
be repealed, and all acts amendatory thereof.
