Chap. 215.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 852 of the Code of 1887,
as amended by an act approved March 14, 1908, relating to compensation
to clerks of boards of supervisors. {S B 198]

Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
eight hundred and fifty-two of the Code of Virginia, of eighteen
hundred and eighty-seven, as heretofore amended, relating to salary
of clerk, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 852. Salary of clerk.—Such clerk shall receive a rea-
sonable compensation for his services as clerk of the board, not to
exceed in any one year the sum of sixty dollars; provided that the
clerk of the board of supervisors of Augusta county may, in the dis-
cretion of said board, receive a salary not exceeding seven hundred
and twenty dollars, and that the clerks of the board of supervisors
of Norfolk, Pittsylvania, Smythe, Tazewell, Rockbridge, Wise and
Russell counties may receive a salary not exceeding one hundred and
fifty dollars.
