Chap. 100.—An ACT to place mutual fire insurance companies under the
supervision and control of the bureau of Insurance. [H B 43)

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That mu-
tual fire insurance companies conducting business exclusively in this
State and on a strictly mutual plan, and that pays its losses wholly
from assessments upon its members, and that makes no division or
distribution of its earnings or profits among its members, and which
have heretofore been exempted from the supervision and control of
the bureau of insurance, be, and they are hereby, placed under the
supervision and control of the bureau of insurance. They shall make
reports to the commissioner of insurance at such times and in such
form as shall be required by him, and shall be annually licensed as
other companies are licensed. except that they shall be exempted from
the payment of the license tax, all other fees and the deposit of
bonds required of other companies.
2. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act are hereby
repealed.
