Chap. 78.—An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of
Sussex county to lay. a special levy of not exceeding ten centg on the
one hundred dollars’ worth of property in Wakefie.d magisteria] district,
in said county, for the purpose of providing for the final liquidation of
the bonded indebtedness of said district. (H. B. 442.)

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of Sussex county be, and said board is,
hereby authorized and empowered to lay a special levy on all the
taxable property of Wakefield magisterial district in said county,
not to exceed ten cents on the one hundred dollars worth of said
property and to collect the same in the year nineteen hundred and
fourteen, and each year thereafter as long as necessary for the
purposes herein mentioned in the manner provided by law for the
collection of county and district taxes, and when said tax is so
collected and turned into the treasury, the same shall be by said
board of supervisors devoted to be paid towards the liquidation
of the ten thousand dollars bonded indebtedness of said district.
2. Should there be any surplus in said treasury growing out
of the said fund after the liquidation of said bonded indebtedness,
then the same shall be applied to the public school funds of said
district.
8. An emergency existing this act shall be in force from its
passage.
