Chap. 275.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3525 of the Code of Vir-
ginia, as amended and re-enacted by an act approved January 11, 1904,
entitled an act to repeal so much of an act approved December 31,
1903, as repeals section 3525 of the Code of Virginia, and to amend and
re-enact section 3525 of the Code of Virginia. (H. B. 386.)

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section thirty-five hundred and twenty-five of the Code of Virginia,
as amended and re-enacted by an act approved January eleventh,
nineteen hundred and four, entitled an act to repeal so such of an
act approved December thirty-first, nineteen hundred and _ three,
as repeals section thirty-five hundred and twenty-live »f the Code
of Virginia, and to amend and re-enact section thirty-five hundred
snd twenty-five of the Code of Virginia, be amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:
Sec. 3525. To sheriffs and sergeants.—For attending any cir-
cuit court engaged in the trial of civil or criminal cases, or both:
the law and equity court, and chancery court of the city of Rich-
mond; the law and chancery court of the city of Norfolk; the law
and chancery court of the city of Roanoke; two do!lars for each
day’s attendance, and the judge of any such court may allow any
deputy, whose attendance he may deem advisable and require as an
assistant to principal office, such-compensation as he may deem-proper
and just, not exceeding two dollars a day; provided, however. that
the chancery court and law and equity court of the city of Rich-
nond shall make the allowance authorized by this section for onc
deputy in attendance upon the court as well as to the sheriff.
