Chap. 225.—An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of
Roanoke county to erect and maintain toll gates on the macadamized
roads of said county. (H. B, 250.)

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of Roanoke county is hereby authorized
and empowered, at: its discretion, to erect and maintain toll gates on
such roads in the aforesaid county as the said board may have here-
tofore macadamized or may hereafter macadamize, charging thereon
such toll as the aforesaid beard may deem advisable and proper, with
the right to grant. rebates on tollage to any persons, who may have
paid anything out of their private funds toward the construction of
any such roads; provided, however, that no toll. gate shall be erected
cn any road within one mile of the corporate limits of Roanoke
city.
