CHAP. 4.—An ACT to declare that when offices held by persons who may
be or have become adjudged to be lunatics or insane shall be vacant
and how such vacancies shall be filled.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That an
adjudication in any manner prescribed by law that anv judicial,
executive or ministerial officer is a lunatic or insane shall create
a vacancy in the office held by him.
2. That where any such officer has heretofore been adjudged
to be a lunatic or insane and has not been lawfully declared re-
stored to sanity or is not lawfully declared restored to sanity
within thirty days from the passage of this act, a vacancy in this
office held by him shall exist.
3. All vacancies occurring under this act shall be filled in the
manner provided by law for filling vacancies in such offices.
4. An emergency existing because of the condition of affairs
existing in an office in this State which require prompt relief,
this act shall be in force from its passage.
