Chap. 38.—An ACT to appropriate the further sum of five thousand dollar:
or so much thereof as may be necessary, for the assessment of lands.

Whereas the general assembly of Virginia by an act approved Marc!
twelfth. nineteen hundred and four, entitled “an act appropriating th
public revenue for the five months beginning the first day of October
nineteen hundred and three, and ending on the twenty-ninth day of Feb
ruary, nineteen hundred and four, and for the two fiscal years ending, re
spectively,on the twenty-eighth day of February, nineteen hundred an
five, and the twenty-eighth day of February, nineteen hundred and six.
appropriated seventy-five thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may b
necessary, to pay cost of assessment of lands; and
Whereas said appropriation has proved insufficient: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the furthe
sum of five thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be
and the same is hereby, appropriated out of any money in the treasur
not otherwise appropriated to pay the cost of assessment of lands.
2. In view of the fact that the work to be paid for out of this appre
priation has been done and the assessors should be paid without furthe
delay, this act is declared to be an emergency act, and shall take effec
from its passage.
