Chap. 250.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2220 of the Code of Vir-
ginfa to authorize corporation courts to appoint persons to celebrate the
rites of marriage.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
twenty-two hundred and twenty of the Code of Virginia be amended and
re-enacted so as to read as follows:
$2220. The circuit and corporation courts of this State which deem it
expedient may appoint one or more persons, resident in such county or
city, to celebrate the rites of marriage within the same, and upon any
person, so appointed, giving such bond as required of an ordained min-
ister, may make a like order authorizing him to celebrate the rites of mar-
riage in such county or city as the case may be. Any order made under
this or the preceding section may be rescinded at any future term.
